Rating Summary
Gex Trilogy is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood, Crude Humor, Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, and Sexual Themes. This is a collection of 2D and 3D platformer games in which players assume the role of Gex, a gecko attempting to save the Media Dimension from an evil villain. From side-scrolling and third-person perspectives, players traverse different television channels, collect remotes, and battle human and fantastical enemies (e.g., aliens, ninjas, evil elves). Players can whip their tails to attack enemies; some levels allow players to use machine guns/tommy guns to shoot at enemies. Some environments depict large bloodstains on the ground and/or walls. The game contains references to sexual material: sexual innuendo in the dialogue (e.g., “I haven't seen this many crabs since Elke Sommer's hot tub party”; “Now that's what I call getting some tail”; “If I'm lucky, I'll stumble into an orgy”); a still-image of a woman with her breasts covered by Gex's hands; red-light district signage (e.g., “XXX”; “Chip's Topless Bar”; “Scooter's House of Pleasure”). Bathroom/Crude Humor includes instances of characters vomiting and emitting flatulence; one snowy environment depicts yellow patches and yellow writing in the snow. The word “a*s” appears in the game.
