Rating Summary
Tales of Berseria Remastered is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Mild Blood, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Alcohol, and Violence. This is an adventure role-playing game in which players assume the role of a character on a quest to avenge the death of her brother. From a third-person perspective, players explore towns and wilderness, interact with characters, and battle fantastical and human enemies (e.g., soldiers, spiritual beings). Players engage in melee-style combat, using blades, daggers, spears, and magic to defeat enemies. Cutscenes depict further instances of violence and/or mild blood: characters impaled by magic swords; a character fighting a daemon, accompanied by small blood-splatter effects; characters with small amounts of blood staining their faces and/or clothing; a lizard creature's tail cut off. Some female characters are designed with revealing outfits (e.g., deep cleavage, bikinis), with occasional camera panning. Some fantastical female enemies are depicted with exposed breasts, though with no discernible details (i.e., no nipples). The dialogue also references suggestive material (e.g., “Eating lots of vegetables will give you bazongas”; “[I] can hear something like deep breathing and soft moaning…”; “You mean it feels good to get whipped.”). A handful of characters are depicted drinking alcohol, slurring their speech, hiccupping, and/or discussing drinking (e.g., “If you guys are going to have a drinking contest, you're going to need some snacks to go with all that alcohol, right?”; “Uh, prob'ly? I dunno. Bit drunk. *hic*”). The words “bastard,” “dumba*s,” and “p*ss” appear in the game.
