Rating Summary
Blades of Fire is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, and Strong Language. This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a blacksmith warrior on a quest to stop a queen from destroying a fantasy world. From a third-person perspective, players traverse a medieval kingdom and use axes, hammers, spears, and swords to kill human soldiers and fantasy creatures (e.g., undead wizards, blood mages, trolls). The frenetic melee-style combat is accompanied by large blood-splatter effects and slow-motion effects; some attacks also result in dismemberment and decapitation. Cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: a monster biting off a prisoner's head; a man crawling out from a pile of burning corpses; a woman impaled by a sword. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the game.
