Gord

This is an adventure-strategy game in which players assume the role of a steward assisting a king in conquering land and building an empire. From a ¾-overhead perspective, players explore lands, complete quests, build structures, and battle various enemies (e.g., wolves, bears, warriors, giant spiders). Players use swords, spears, axes, and magic to defeat enemies in melee-style combat; battles are highlighted by slashing sounds, cries of pain, and blood-splatter effects. Cutscenes depict further instances of violence and blood: a bloody corpse falling out of a cage; a still-screen of a character above a bloody corpse; a dragon biting a man's torso in half. The game contains several references to alcohol, including a drunk character's dialogue (e.g., “Makes the finest mead…*hic*…this side of… wherever”; “Her favorite mistress is drink”; “Meadery”; “Weakness Alcoholism”). The word “sh*t” appears in the game.
