Rating Summary
Genshin Impact is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes, and Use of Alcohol. Also includes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items). This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of a character searching for a lost sibling in a fantasy world. From a third-person perspective, players explore an open-world environment, interact with characters, complete missions, and battle fantastical creatures (e.g., rock golems, slime creatures, goblins, insects). Players use swords and ranged attacks to fight enemies in frenetic melee-style combat. Combat is highlighted by frequent impact sounds, light effects, and explosions. The game contains some suggestive material: female characters designed with revealing outfits and camera angles (e.g., deep cleavage, close-ups, exaggerated proportions); innuendo in the dialogue/text (e.g. "...[U]se your strong hand to stir it with a persistent rhythm…Keep going until the juices start to come out…Okay, okay, I get it…”; “Are you ready to please me?...What did you say?”). One sequence depicts characters engaging in a drinking game, resulting in drunken characters with slurred speech. The words “bastard” and “a*s” appear in the game.
