The Great War: Western Front

This is a strategy game in which players engage in combat during World War I. From a top-down perspective, players move units around maps, build bases and trenches, research technology, and command attacks on enemy positions. Combat is highlighted by gunfire, small explosions, and cries of pain; soldiers are sometimes flung across distances after certain attacks, with corpses remaining on the battlefield. Cutscenes depict further instances of violence and sometimes blood: a distant view of an assassination; a close-up view of a bloodstain spreading across a victim's chest. Players can encounter a scenario called Cocaine Panic that contains historical details about soldiers using the drug as well as options for solutions. Archival film footage frequently depicts soldiers smoking cigarettes.
