Rating Summary
This is an open-world action game, based on the Mad Max movie franchise, in which players assume the role of Max on a dangerous quest in a post-apocalyptic world. As players traverse the landscape, they use armored vehicles to destroy enemies and camps. Players use spiked bats, spears, sniper rifles, and shotguns to kill enemies in frenetic, melee-style combat. Players can also perform various slow-motion finishing moves (e.g., neck snap, fury kill) on enemies; combat is accompanied by realistic gunfire, large explosions, and blood-splatter effects. Some sequences depict mutilated corpses and body parts strewn in the environment. Cutscenes depict intense acts of violence, such as chainsaw impaling and throat-slitting attacks. During the course of the game, drugs are sometimes referenced in text (e.g., “It all has to do with how much nitrous oxide he has sniffed before the operation” and “When she is not fighting, she likes to huff inhalants such as nitrous, gasoline, and fume.”). One sequence depicts a character under the influence of an inhalant, delivered via a mask. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in dialogue.
