Hoodwink is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Drug Reference, Mild Language, and Mild Violence. In this point-and-click adventure game, players assume the role of Michael Bezzle, an “acquisitions expert” (i.e., thief) on a quest to discover the truth behind the world's last corporation. As players explore a dystopian metropolis, they advance the narrative by solving puzzles and interacting with nearby characters. Some sequences include brief acts of violence (e.g., characters held at gunpoint; a human-like cat repeatedly set on fire; a character shot by police, resulting in a “cartoony” ghost floating above his body). During the course of the game, the central character describes the leaf cuttings of an “activist” shopkeeper (e.g., “I guess Saffy's planning to replant these cuttings; they're all labeled 'pot.'”). The words “a*s,” “damn,” and “hell” appear in the dialogue.
