Rating Summary
METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker - Master Collection Version is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood, Drug Reference, Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Tobacco, and Violence. This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Snake, an elite soldier investigating military presence/actions in Costa Rica. Players engage in stealth missions by sneaking past guards, incapacitating enemy soldiers via a tranquilizer gun, and performing hand-to-hand takedowns (e.g., sleeper holds, knockouts). Players use machine guns, pistols, and rockets to kill enemy soldiers and destroy vehicles and robots. When enemies are shot, a brief red particle effect is depicted. Black-and-white comic book-style cutscenes sometimes depict instances of torture (e.g., electric rods used to shock Snake); one such sequence depicts blood dripping from a victim's mouth. During the course of the game, players can take pictures of female characters in bikinis/underwear; touch another character's breasts (clothed); lie on top of them (no movement); and/or enter a cardboard box with another person, resulting in a rustling motion and moaning sounds. The game contains references to drug operations, junkies, and cocaine; several comic book-style sequences depict characters lighting and smoking cigars and cigarettes. The word "bullsh*t" appears in the game.
