Mystery Case Files: Escape from Ravenhearst

This is a hidden-object adventure game in which players assume the role of a detective investigating strange occurrences near a haunted manor. Players solve puzzles and search through screens filled with jumbled objects to advance the storyline. Several sequences include dark thematic elements and/or instances of violence: lifeless bodies strung up from trees; a living mannequin choking to death; adults and children restrained by menacing contraptions and water chambers. One operating room sequence depicts a small pool of red blood on the counter. During the course of the game, a few medical tags describe over-the-top causes of death (e.g., “reverse diarrhea,” “reptile dysfunction,” “Gastro-Eruptus”); one sequence allows players to click on a character's pimples to pop them.
