This is a "point-and-click" adventure game in which players assume the role of a man who must clear his name as he struggles with an evil entity. Players solve puzzles, interact with characters, and search for clues as they piece together the storyline. During the course of the game, the central character can be killed by wild animals or gun-wielding enemies, resulting in cries of pain and a red death screen. Other scenes depict dead characters, bloodstained floors, or objects that are splattered with blood. Some cutscenes depict more explicit acts of violence: a man getting stabbed in the eye with a pencil; a woman being smothered to death with a pillow. The game also contains some sexual references in the dialogue (e.g., "[His] porno TV chair . . . no way I'm touching that!" and "An ad for telephone sex hotlines . . .").
