This is a "point-and-click" adventure game in which players assume the role of Red Johnson, a private detective who must investigate a murder case. Players solve puzzles, interact with witnesses and suspects via on-screen prompts, and piece together various clues. Some cutscenes depict acts of violence: a man stabbed in the throat with a broken broom handle; a character shot in the head; a man hit in the face with a crowbar. Characters sometimes emit brief sprays of blood when injured, or collapse into pools of blood when killed. During the course of the game, the dialogue occasionally references prostitution (e.g., "I'm in the business of selling kicks" and ". . . having a good time with the local hookers. . .") and pornography (e.g., "Looks like this is where [he] hides his skin mags."). The words "f**k" and "sh*t" can be heard in dialogue.
