Rating Summary
Life is Strange: Reunion is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Mild Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, and Use of Drugs. This is an adventure game in which players follow the story of two characters trying to prevent a tragic occurrence at a college campus. Players travel through time, investigating the campus and surrounding town to discover the cause of the tragedy. As players progress through the story, they can interact with characters, solve puzzles, and make various dialogue and action choices that affect the course of the narrative. A handful of choices lead to instances of violence: characters caught in a bomb explosion; a woman shot (off-screen). The game contains references to suggestive material in the text and dialogue (e.g., “[H]is girlfriend thought this was an orgy”; “I was on a Tinder date…I got a slinky and second base...”; “This bartender wants to show me his python...I think he also wants to bang.”). One brief sequence depicts a character making a masturbatory gesture with her hand. During the course of the game, a character is shown hallucinating after consuming a drink laced with psychedelics—blurry-screen effects occur; drugs are also referenced in the dialogue/text (e.g., “the stoner”; “it's definitely drugs”; “tripping balls”). The word “f**k” is heard in the game.
