R-Type Tactics I • II Cosmos is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, and Mild Suggestive Themes. Also includes Users Interact. This is a strategy game in which players deploy an armada of spacecraft to battle an alien empire. Players arrange units (e.g., battleships, destroyers, robots) on hexagonal grid-like battlefields and select attack moves from a menu screen. Players attempt to defeat enemies (e.g., spacecrafts, alien creatures) in turn-based combat, as attack moves depict short animated sequences of ships and/or aliens shooting/launching at each other. Combat is accompanied by impact sounds and brief explosions. The game contains a romance option in which dialogue branches are selected to progress the storyline; some text in the dialogue and romance option contain suggestive material: "We close our eyes and kiss"; "Treat 'em well, they're a sexy bunch"; "It's so inappropriate"; "We find ourselves in each other's arms." The word “hellish” appears in the game.
