STARBITES is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Language, Mild Blood, Suggestive Themes, Use of Alcohol, and Violence. This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of a young salvager trying to escape a hostile planet. Players explore various environments, interact with characters, and engage in turn-based combat using mechanical armored units. Players engage in fantastical combat with robots/mechs, using lasers, firearms, and blasts of energy to kill enemies; combat is highlighted by slow-motion effects and explosions. One cutscene depicts several dead soldiers/humans in the aftermath of a battle; a character with a bloody bullet wound is also seen. One recurring character is designed with a revealing outfit (e.g., deep cleavage, exaggerated proportions, jiggling breasts). During the course of the game, a central character is sometimes seen consuming alcohol; the dialogue also contains several alcohol references (e.g., ; “Ugh, it reeks of booze”; "Time to get wasted"; “Drinks are on the house”; “Maybe we should do a couple shots to celebrate?”). The words “sh*t” and “a*shole” appear in the game.
