Nioh 3 is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. Also includes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases. This is an action/role-playing game in which players assume the role of an aspiring shogun sent back in time to prevent a future tragedy. From a third-person perspective, players explore both realistic and demonic realms while battling demons, dogs, human enemies, and boss characters in frenetic combat. Players use swords, spears, arrows, rifles, and other weapons to kill enemies in melee and ranged combat. Fighting is highlighted by frequent blood-splatter effects and cries of pain; some attacks result in decapitation and/or dismemberment. The game contains some suggestive material: a reference to brothels; a level taking place in a “pleasure district”'; characters in revealing outfits (e.g., deep cleavage, thong-like bottoms).
