Rating Summary
Angry Video Game Nerd 8-bit is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Crude Humor, Fantasy Violence, and Strong Language. This is an action platformer in which players help a protagonist save video games and the world from a virus. Players traverse 2D levels while using a blaster to fire projectiles at pixelated creatures (e.g., Turdinator, Horseless Man-Head). Combat is accompanied by blaster and screen-shaking effects. The game contains instances of crude humor: video footage of a man defecating into a glass (offscreen) then pouring the contents on the ground; players battling a pixelated feces swirl; enemies sending attacks such as “Diarrhea Blasts” and “Blizzard of Balls.” The words “f**k,” “c*ck,” and “sh*t” are heard throughout the game.
