Rating Summary
Crimson Desert is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, and Strong Language. This is an action role-playing game in which players assume the role of Kliff, a warrior chief navigating hostile lands in the fantasy world of Pywel. From a third-person perspective, players explore open-world environments while battling enemy tribes, robots, and goblins. Characters use swords, arrows, and guns to kill enemies in frenetic melee combat. Large blood-splatter effects occur as characters are slashed, stabbed, or shot. Cutscenes also depict instances of intense violence: a man repeatedly stabbing a victim before cutting his throat; a villain using an axe to kill a kneeling man; a vanquished opponent stabbing himself; characters getting impaled, sometimes repeatedly. Players can also attack civilians, though these actions cause guards to chase/apprehend players' character. During the course of the game, players can encounter characters addicted to a fantastical drug (Dreamer's Bliss); a prolonged scene in a lab depicts the manufacturing of the drug. The words “f**k” and “c*nt” appear in the game.
