Rating Summary
Republic of Pirates is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Drug Reference, Language, Mild Violence, and Suggestive Themes. This is a strategy game in which players assume the role of a pirate captain seeking revenge by rebuilding the Republic of Pirates. From a ¾-overhead perspective, players construct buildings, produce goods, and attack rival islands and pirates. Players can select their fleets to attack rival pirate ships or docks; battles are highlighted by cannon fire and small explosions. During the course of the game, players can construct brothels at the request of their workers, with accompanying text (e.g., “Cheap thrills or high-priced desires; brothels offer it all for their lascivious patrons”). Players can also construct opium dens, with accompanying text (e.g., “A smoky den whose patrons yearn for oblivion”). The words “sh*t” and “pr*ck” appear in the game.
