Rating Summary
World of Warcraft Classic is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Crude Humor, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Alcohol, and Violence. Also includes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases. This is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) role-playing game set in the fantasy world of Azeroth. As players explore open-world environments, they can interact with characters, complete quests, and battle various human and fantastical enemies (e.g., wolves, skeletons, bandits, goblins). Players use swords, spells, and melee-style attacks to defeat enemies. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, colorful light effects, and cries of pain. Some enemies are depicted with open stomachs and hanging entrails; some environments contain dismembered corpses and/or severed heads and limbs. The dialogue contains some suggestive material, particularly when using flirt lines/commands (e.g., “I have a number of inventions I'd like to show you, back at my place.”). Some female characters are designed with revealing outfits (e.g., deep cleavage, low-cut tops) and/or perform provocative dance routines. During the course of the game, players' character can purchase and consume mead, wine, and other alcoholic beverages; drinking excessively results in screen-blurring effects, with accompanying text (e.g., “You feel drunk"; “You feel completely smashed”). One quest (The Turd Problem) depicts large piles of brown feces, with accompanying text (e.g., "Find another sucker to stand watch over your enormous mound of poop"; "I can't work under these conditions, man!"). The word “bastard” appears in the game.
