Nobody Wants to Die is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco, and Violence. This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of a detective investigating a murder case. From a first-person perspective, players explore futuristic noire environments, investigate crime scenes, and make choices that influence the narrative. During crime scene investigations, players can manipulate time and view crime reenactments. Some reenactments depict instances of violence and blood: a character stabbed in the head, with a blood-splatter effect; a character impaled; characters shot, with blood-splatter effects, a character's throat slit. During some sequences, players can choose whether or not to shoot another character. Players can examine bodies, using tools to view bloodstains and surrounding trails of blood. During one investigation, players view two clothed characters engaging in suggestive poses and/or simulating sexual acts. Players' character can consume alcohol and/or smoke cigarettes/cigars from a first-person perspective. The word “f**k” appears in the game.
