Yars Rising

This is an action-platformer in which players control a young hacker (Emi) infiltrating a shadowy tech corporation. Players traverse side-scrolling levels, solve mini-games, and avoid various enemies (e.g., robots, alien bugs, humans). As players progress, they acquire combat skills such as an energy drain and the ability to shoot bursts of energy. Damage to enemies includes small explosions and quick bursts of colored liquid. Boss battles depict more frenetic combat involving laser fire and large bursts of energy. The game contains some mildly suggestive material: a villain with a revealing outfit (e.g., moderate cleavage); innuendo in the dialogue (e.g., “Open! Or…don't? Are you even turned on? [wait, that sounded wrong]"; “Get a room, you two"; “Where's all the hot alien sci-fi babes?”). The words "hell" and "dammit" appear in the game.
