Rating Summary
Ad Infinitum is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, and Strong Language. This is a survival horror game in which players navigate through World War I and its consequences as a German soldier. From a first-person perspective, players traverse through different environments (e.g., trenches, ruined buildings, houses) collect artifacts, and battle various creatures. Players are chased through levels and can eventually use axes, tools, or knives to hack and slash at monsters; finishing sequences depict intense instances of violence, with players stabbing monsters repeatedly, and/or cutting off their heads or limbs. Players are stabbed or slashed when caught by monsters, resulting in blood-splatter effects on the screen. One cutscene depicts a soldier caught on barbed wire, with a severed hand and mutilated face. Corpses are often depicted, sometimes with bloody, exposed entrails. The word “f**k” appears in the game.
