Rating Summary
This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of a rookie sent to rescue characters who have crash-landed on an alien planet. Players command a dog and tiny plant-like creatures (Pikmin), perform tasks (e.g., collecting treasure, exploring caverns) and attack insect-like creatures. Players also destroy mechanical machine-gun turrets and engage larger boss creatures in combat. Pikmin generally swarm their enemies, latching on and whacking them with their antennae. Battles are frenetic with impact sounds, laser fire, explosions, and screen-shaking effects. The game includes a joke/innuendo about a peach and buttocks: "...[O]ne can't ignore the shapely curves reminiscent of...eh...Good manners dictate I say no more. Suffice it to say, the Mock Bottom is quite a sensory experience."
