Afterimage

This is a 2D action-platformer in which players assume the role of an amnesiac navigating a magical world. From a side-scrolling perspective, players traverse platforms while exploring fantastical environments and fighting enemies (e.g., monsters, boss characters). Players use swords and scythes to defeat enemies in melee-style combat. Fighting is highlighted by impact sounds, screen-shaking effects, and cries of pain. Some items contain blood or are stained with blood, including an amulet and a spear. Players can collect dozens of other items, some of which reference alcohol (e.g., a broken wine bottle; a goblet with the description, “[Y]ou'll feel the mellow wine spreading to your whole body..."). A pipe item is depicted with blue smoke swirls. The word “damn” appears in the game.
