Rating Summary
THEA500 mini is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Mild Language, Partial Nudity, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco, and Violence. This is a collection of twenty-five retro-style home computer games spread across genres. Several games include combat, generally presented from a top-down perspective against aliens, mutants, demons, or monsters. Characters use firearms (e.g., machine guns, shotguns, grenade launchers), bladed weapons, and magic to defeat enemies. One highly stylized/pixelated first-person shooter contains large blood-splatter effects; another game shows chess pieces (human knights/bishops/sorcerers) that impale or dismember fallen pieces. Small monster heads can be seen hanging from the ceiling in one game. The collection includes some brief depictions of characters' exposed buttocks. In some games, characters smoke cigarettes or pipes; drunk characters can be seen consuming alcohol or passed out. Drug references occasionally appear in the text (e.g., "Have you ever taken drugs?...The dope I would shoot is Jeremy Beadle"; "Have you ever driven your car under the influence of drugs?...Hey man...look at the colors on the wall."). The collection contains the word "ar*e."
