Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

This is an action game in which players assume the role of a harvest goddess (Princess Sakuna) banished to an island overrun by monsters. Players tend to a rice farm and explore side-scrolling island environments to battle various demons. Players use hammers, swords, and sickles to defeat fantasy creatures (e.g., skeletons, bats, mechanical soldiers) in frenetic melee-style combat. Some attacks are accompanied by impact sounds, cries of pain, and brief blood effects. The game depicts a drunk character with an audible *hic* in his speech. One prolonged sequence depicts young characters discussing alcohol (““Awww, c'mon….just a little sip won't hurt nothin.'”); dialogue references alcohol throughout the game (e.g., “You reek of sake”; “I suppose I'll head back to the banquet and reacquaint myself with the joy of intoxication.”).
