Rating Summary
Life is Strange 2 Episode 4 is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood, Drug Reference, Mild Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Tobacco, and Violence. Also includes In-Game Purchases. This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Sean, a teenage boy in search of his brother. As players progress through the narrative, they can make dialogue and action choices that influence the outcome/progression of the story (e.g., whether to steal, lie, cause physical harm). Some choices lead to instances of violence: a teenager punched and pistol-whipped repeatedly; a woman shot dead off screen; a restrained character kicked by a man. Blood sometimes appears on wounded or dead characters and animals. The dialogue/text contains some brief instances of sexuality (e.g., “My chances of scoring tonight are probably…ten times yours”; “I hear u gonna tap Murphy's a*s”; “You wouldn't be so uptight if you got laid…”). Condoms also appear in a handful of scenes. During the course of the game, teenagers can be seen smoking cigarettes; one sequence allows players' character to smoke. The game includes references to and depictions of drugs: marijuana bags and “weed pipes”; text references to a “meth addict.” The words “f**k” and “sh*t” appear in dialogue.
