CRYSTAR

This is an action role-playing game in which players help a high-school girl (Rei) trapped in purgatory to rescue her sister's soul. Players traverse maze-like levels and fight monsters called Revenants (corrupted human souls). Players use swords, gauntlets, and throwing knives in melee-style combat; battles are highlighted by sword slashes, colorful light effects, and cries of pain. Some cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: a girl hanging herself with a rope; a girl stabbed through the chest with a sword. The text also describes instances of murder and suicide. Some female characters wear outfits that reveal large amounts of cleavage. The word “a*shole” is heard in the game.
