Dark Devotion

This is an action-adventure game in which players battle their way through dark temple environments. From a side-scrolling perspective, the game allows players to hack and slash enemy ghouls and boss characters while avoiding bladed traps/hazards. Characters use swords, scythes, bladed gloves, and magic to kill enemies; combat is highlighted by frequent blood-splatter effects. Several areas depict corpses lying in the background or hanging from rafters/ceilings; some corpses are depicted with missing limbs and/or in states of decay. Some boss-battle sequences depict human-like characters tearing off their own arms or cutting corpses in half. One background sequence shows a human-like victim stabbed on a bloodstained altar. The word “sh*t” appears in the dialogue.
