This is a real-time strategy game in which players engage in campaigns to dominate opposing factions in ancient China. From a top-down perspective, players engage in diplomacy and deploy infantry, archers, cavalry, and other military units. Soldiers use axes, swords, spears, and catapults to fight battles against rival armies. Players can zoom in on soldiers as they slash each other during combat; fighting is highlighted by cries of pain and impact sounds (e.g., sword slashing, cavalry clashing).
