Rating Summary
Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe’s The Gold Bug Collector’s Edition is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Alcohol Reference, Mild Blood, and Mild Violence. This is a hidden-object adventure game in which players assume the role of a detective helping to solve the mystery of Captain Kidd's treasure. Players solve puzzles and search for specific items among screens of jumbled objects. Some cutscenes contain brief instances of violence/peril: a villain shooting a pistol at a man in slow motion; a villain menacing the camera/player with a pistol; a character begging for help after being poisoned. Blood appears occasionally, as the result of accidents: players collect a bloody nail from a windowsill and follow a trail of blood droplets. The game contains a brief alcohol reference (e.g., a character stating that wine has been poisoned).
