Rating Summary
This is an adventure-platformer in which players assume the role of a boy (Kutaro) who is kidnapped and transformed into a puppet. Players use Kutaro to run and jump around whimsical platform environments stylized to look like a stage (e.g., curtains, audience reactions). Kutaro jumps on cartoony enemies' heads and sometimes uses a pair of scissors to cut away enemy parts (e.g., stuffed animal stitching and noses, a tiger's teeth). The game contains occasional suggestive references/innuendo in the dialogue (e.g., “Arr, a treasure truly worth burying meself in”; “Only buxom beauties be worthy of the captain's embrace”; and a character says, “Talk about loose women” as a string of paper-doll can-can girls dance). In one sequence, the narrator comments that two sleeping pirates are “three sheets to the wind.” The word “hell” can be heard in dialogue.
