DARK is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. In this stealth-based action game, players assume the role of a vampire searching for the truth about his forgotten past. Players engage in infiltration missions and employ stealth combat tactics (e.g., quick kills or blood-draining from behind) against various guards, vampire hunters, and ghouls. Players use fantastical powers such as power punches, vampire vision, and teleportation to locate and kill enemies. Splashes of blood are frequently depicted when enemies are drained from behind. During the course of the game, dismembered body parts are seen in some areas (e.g., operating tables, display stands); human torsos with bare breasts are occasionally depicted alongside other body parts. In one sequence, female dancers in revealing outfits (e.g., lingerie, string bikinis) can be seen dancing on a club platform, as male patrons make suggestive comments (e.g., “Yeah, show us something”). The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole” can be heard in the game's dialogue.
