Dark Arcana - The Carnival

This is a hidden-object game in which players help a detective find a missing woman at a carnival. Players solve puzzles and search through screens filled with jumbled objects to advance the narrative. The game includes some dark thematic elements and depictions of violence: a dead body hanging from a noose; a corpse's head at the end of a rope; a man trapped in a magic box, impaled by swords. A handful of newspaper clippings also reference acts of violence (e.g., “She was fatally hit with a knife during Jim's most famous and extremely dangerous act, 'The Blind Thrower.'”); one clipping is accompanied by a photo of a victim lying next to a bloodied knife and a small pool of blood.
