Rating Summary
In this simulation-strategy game, players create a criminal empire in Prohibition-era Atlantic City. Players acquire buildings throughout the city to establish various enterprises and establishments (e.g., speakeasy, smuggling of liquor, protection racket, gun shop, storage warehouse, brewery, etc.) to gain money and influence. To protect their properties and businesses, players can engage in combat against opposing gangsters, and sometimes police officers. From a 3/4–overhead perspective, players' character uses pistols, Tommy guns, and shotguns to kill enemies in turn-based combat. Violent encounters are accompanied by realistic gunfire, explosions, and cries of pain; bodies collapse and sometimes lie in small pools of blood. Players can also order ambushes to eliminate rival gangsters or intimidate local businesses. As the game progresses, players can increase their influence over characters by offering them alcohol or by completing “Liquor jobs” (e.g., Raid a brewery). The word “sh*t” appears in the dialogue.
