Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time

This is a role-playing game in which players must save a war-torn fantasy world from powerful beings called Angels. As players attempt to stop the Angels from wiping out all of civilization, they engage in turn-based battles against human enemies and animal-like creatures (e.g., wolves, snakes, giant scorpions). Players select commands from a menu, then use swords, arrows, spears, and magic attacks to kill enemies who disappear amid bursts of light. Cutscenes depict more dramatic instances of violence (e.g., extended swordfights; a character getting impaled, resulting in blood effects); a variety of still images depict characters with bloody limbs/clothing. Several female characters are dressed in low-cut outfits that reveal large amounts of cleavage. Cutscenes sometimes depict characters' bouncing breasts or close-up camera angles of their buttocks. One sequence permits players to touch a female character's face, shoulders, or breasts in order to “see if she's a ghost” (though there is no depiction, only text). The words “a*s” and “bastard” appear in the dialogue.
