Rating Summary
This is an action-adventure game based on characters from the Spider-Man movie franchise. Players assume the role of Spider-Man as he attempts to protect the citizens of New York City from a dangerous biological threat. As players jump and swing through side-scrolling levels, they punch, kick, and use web-based attacks to dispatch cartoonlike adversaries and larger bosses (e.g., robots, armed security guards, mutant creatures); enemies fall off screen or disappear when defeated. Some levels depict brief explosions, and Spider-Man's attacks are often paired with jokey remarks: “Hey, I just dry-cleaned this outfit!” and “Is that all you've got?”
