Akai Katana

This is a side-scrolling shooter in which players follow the story of characters who use magical swords to defeat their rivals. Players fire energy blasts at waves of helicopters, tanks, and ships; battle cries can be heard throughout, and enemy vehicles explode into colorful light particles. During extended boss battles, players drain enemies' health meters to defeat them. A handful of cutscenes are accompanied by dark thematic imagery and tones: dialogue about suicide (e.g., “Tsubaki plunged the blood katana into his chest,” “. . . the three guides resolved to sacrifice themselves in a final attack.”); two characters in a pool of blood. The word “b*tch” appears in the dialogue.
