Rating Summary

This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Sherlock Holmes as he investigates the murders committed by Jack the Ripper in the London district of Whitechapel, 1888. Players can choose between a first-person perspective and a third-person view to search for clues and interview suspects and witnesses. During the opening cutscene, the strangulation of a female prostitute is shown through the killer's eyes. After the woman faints, it is strongly suggested that the killer uses a knife to stab or disembowel the victim: "squishing" sounds and a bloodied knife are heard and seen afterwards. During the course of the investigation, the subject of necrophilia is discussed, and the act prostitution is strongly implied. Some characters are depicted smoking cigarettes, while another character drinks from a bottle while using slurred, halting speech. The expletive "damn" can sometimes be heard in the dialogue.
