Rating Summary
This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a sorcerer's apprentice on a quest to defeat evil forces. From a third-person perspective, players use a magic wand to cast elemental spells (e.g., fire, lightning, wind, ice) against trolls, ghosts, living trees, and banshees. Combat is accompanied by sword-slashing/clanging sounds, battle cries, and colorful light effects; enemies quickly disappear when defeated. A handful of storybook–like cutscenes depict other instances of fantasy violence: a man dissolving after he is defeated with magic; characters attempting to cast spells on each other (e.g., “I killed your master, and I'll kill you, too.”). Players can also collect vials of wolf, bear, and lion blood potions to increase “overall vigor.” During the course of the game, some female characters are dressed in form-fitting outfits; one still-frame image depicts fairies covered by loose strips of cloth.
