Rating Summary
Asura's Wrath is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood, Language, Partial Nudity, Suggestive Themes, Use of Alcohol, and Violence. This is an action game in which players assume the role of Asura, a demigod seeking revenge against those who betrayed him. From a third-person perspective, players use energy blasts and combo attacks to engage in hand-to-hand combat against Gohma (e.g., ape-, turtle-, elephant-like creatures) and other demigods. The frenetic battles are highlighted by cries of pain, slow-motion effects, and splashes of yellow blood. Some cutscenes are accompanied by dramatic finishing moves: slicing a demigod with a sword; crushing an enemy trapped inside an airship. A handful of cutscenes also depict characters lying in small pools of red blood. During one hot-spring sequence, players may “drink” or “chug” sake; continued drinking results in erratic movements and a blurred screen effect. The sequence also depicts two female characters in bathing suits serving the men sake; the camera sometimes zooms in on their jiggling breasts or shows a man's hand reaching toward a woman's chest—the man is punched and the scene ends. The game also includes a brief depiction of a male character's exposed buttocks. The words “bastard,” “b*tch,” and “C*ck Blocked” appear in the game.
