Mystery Legends: Beauty and the Beast

Mystery Legends: Beauty and the Beast is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Alcohol Reference, Animated Blood, Fantasy Violence, and Mild Suggestive Themes. This is a hidden-object adventure game in which players assume the role of Belle, a merchant's daughter who must release a beast from an evil spell. Players solve puzzles and search through scenes of jumbled objects to advance the storyline. Some scenes include dark tones and thematic elements: skeletons slumped inside an enchanted tree; a character electrocuted and turned into stone. In one sequence, players use a sword to fight off waves of spiders; one giant spider emits splashes of purple liquid when struck. As the game progresses, a couple of female characters are depicted in outfits that expose moderate amounts of cleavage; the story occasionally references suggestive material (e.g., “The two eldest [daughters] . . . would not leave town, for they had several lovers.”). One tavern sequence requires players to create ale, which is poured into a mug and collected as inventory.
