Rating Summary
House of the Dead Overkill - Extended Cut is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, and Strong Language. This is a first-person shooter in which players investigate a series of mysterious disappearances in a small town and kill hordes of mutant zombies along the way. Players use pistols, shotguns, machine guns, explosives, and characters' bare hands to kill swarms of attacking zombies, earning higher scores for headshots or shooting off enemies' arms and legs; some cutscenes also depict other characters with dismembered limbs. Red blood splatters from injured zombies, and blood stains can be seen on the floors and walls. The central characters often use strong language such as “motherf**ker,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole”; several sequences also reference sexual material (e.g., prostitution, stripping, jokes about sex with one's mother). A few boss fights depict humanoid female monsters with “mutated” breasts that jiggle when they move.
