Rating Summary
Hidden Expedition: The Uncharted Islands is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Alcohol and Tobacco Reference, and Mild Violence. This is a hidden-object adventure game in which players assume the role of a character who must escape from an island and save its inhabitants. Players solve puzzles and search for specific items on screens filled with jumbled objects to advance the storyline. A few sequences contain brief acts of violence: players using a slingshot to knock out a pirate; a puffer fish attacking/poisoning players' character (e.g., “Ouch! Uh-oh, I don't feel so good . . .”). The game also contains occasional instances of mild peril; in one scene, players must complete a puzzle to save two characters who are dangling over a pit of acid. As the game progresses, one puzzle (i.e., “8 Things Forbidden by Mom”) includes a tobacco pipe and half-smoked cigar as searchable items; in another sequence, players discover a barrel of “pirate grog” on a ship.
