Midnight Mysteries: Devil on the Mississippi

This is a hidden-object adventure game in which players attempt to aid the haunted ghost of Mark Twain. Players solve puzzles, search for scattered items among scenes of jumbled objects, and interact with various characters to advance the storyline. Some cutscenes contain brief instances of violence: silhouetted passengers screaming and dissolving; a riverboat bursting into flames. The game also contains references to death that contribute to the dark tone (e.g., "From the stench I'd say the corpses are still gooey” and “I am John Perry. The most recent resident of this mass grave.”). In one sequence, players are prompted to clean up a large bloodstain on the floor.
