Rating Summary
Special Enquiry Detail is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood, Drug Reference, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes, and Mild Violence.

This is a hidden-object game in which players assume the role of detectives who must solve a murder mystery. Players solve puzzles and search for specific items on screens filled with jumbled objects as they uncover evidence, interview suspects, and advance the storyline. A handful of sequences depict acts or consequences of violence (though all deaths occur off-screen): a character shot by a gun-wielding assailant; a victim lying dead on a bathroom floor; and a corpse with blood on its chest and the floor. A female character is sometimes depicted in outfits that expose moderate amounts of cleavage; the dialogue also contains a few suggestive references (e.g., "She slept with another guy" and "Your husband never suspected the affair?"). One sequence requires players to analyze fingerprints found on drug-filled packets; the dialogue occasionally references other drug-related activities (e.g., "drug-dealing buddies" and "Is it true that [she] was high on drugs and killed herself?"). The words "damn" and "hell" appear in dialogue.
