This is an action role-playing game in which players perform quests and follow a storyline about an adventurer (Adol Christin) in the fantastical land of Esteria. From an overhead perspective, players run and jump through levels and use swords and magic spells to destroy small enemy creatures (e.g., demons, goblin soldiers, wolves, tree beasts). Battles are accompanied by brief puffs of blood, and small bloodstains sometimes appear on the ground. During the course of the game, players' character can enter taverns and interact with drunken townsfolk (e.g., "I got nothing' . . .t' do . . .but drink up . . . and out . . ." and "Hey, bro . . . You want a drink, too?"). Text-based dialogue also contains some suggestive innuendo (e.g., "Do you have a thing for older women or something?" and "I may need to tie him to the bed tonight. And leave him that way, this time."). One still-frame cutscene depicts two nude goddess characters; the general shapes of their bodies are displayed instead of actual detail (i.e., no nipples or genitalia). The words "bastard," "damn," and "jacka*s" appear in the dialogue.
