Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals

This is an action role-playing game in which players help a band of heroes stop legendary beings known as Sinistrals from conquering a fantasy land. Using a top-down perspective, players can explore towns and forests, solve puzzles, and engage in combat against fantasy monsters (e.g., giant insects, robots, carnivorous plants). Players can shoot wave beams from a gun and perform various sword slashes, hammer strikes, and magic attacks against enemies that disappear in a flash of light when defeated. Characters occasionally use language such as "hell" in the dialogue.
