Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials

This is a seek-and-find adventure game in which players attempt to resolve the strange circumstances surrounding the death of the American writer Nathanial Hawthorne. Players search for specific items among scenes of jumbled objects, and progress through events centered on the Salem Witch Trials. Ghosts convey most of the story details with references to people put to death during trials, massacres, and a deadly curse (e.g., people dying by "blood in the mouth."). Blood is briefly depicted on items such as a handkerchief and on a jewelry box. In one sequence, a character makes a somewhat suggestive joke (e.g., "Sneaking oysters to eat in a shed? Was someone hoping for an aphrodisiac?"). The word "hell" appears once in the game.
